But yes, the Japanese harlequin gene can effect full colour rabbits so chestnuts, and chinchilla and steel, can be harlequinized - see kit on right

It is dominant in the sense that E ej still displays the full agouti, chinchilla or steel pattern (+ a little brindling) instead of the harlequin pattern which looks more like a non-extension color, like fawn, orange, or red with black markings or brindling.

Esej may also decide to look like a false self.

It's strange that ej is considered one of the least dominant genes, when really, it always expresses when present. Only self, false-self steel, or white truly hide it.
