I'm curious what this buck and doe would produce. Hypothetical at this point though. ;)

The "white" one has colors on her ears...what color is she?

Is the "black" a true black? Looks a little brownish in places...

...outcomes? ;)

The white is probably a poorly marked himi. Are they outside in the heat? Himi markings are heat sensitive and fade in the heat. If so you are probably crossing a black with a black or blue himi and will get lots of blacks.

The white has no smutty or darker markings anywhere but those ears though.

I should also get better pictures of the white-ish one...the ears are pretty mottled to my eye. ;)

I've got a himi who just has rings around the base of his ears and that's it in hot weather. It's quite common with netherlands that have certain backgrounds. I talked to a sable netherland breeder who had a dozen himis like that sitting in carriers at the show for sale as pets and broodstock.

The other guess would be a poorly marked sable point or smoke pearl which would give you the same result when crossed with a full color black. Lots of black offspring and a chance of blue.

Huh...okay cool. :) What "causes" himi markings or sable point/smoke pearl? Is it possible the black (who is likely related to the white-ish one) has recessive stuff that could cause more of the same?

I think the white doe is broken agouti of some sort. Also obviously himi.
I'm guessing...you could get a variety of kits. xD

She could be a broken himi. That would explain lack of color on the feet and tail. I've heard that non extension himis can have rings at the base of their ears. Depending on what recessive the buck carries on the C locus you could possibly get shaded or more himis. :) Only way to know for sure is to test breed!

Why an agouti? It's rarely bred in to the shaded colors and himi and there isn't enough color to see a ticked coat. Broken could erase some points but usually leaves nose color behind and again there's not enough color to really put it on the radar.

It's possible if they are related that he could carry the recessives to make more mostly white rabbits or other shaded colors.

I...I'm tempted!!! I got a batch of unwanted rabbits for free and since I've had to cull a few rabbits I have space to let 'em hang out for a while...so instead of processing or "flipping" them I might just enjoy them for a while. ;)

I was thinking possible broken too, actually...and I thought about nose color but then also thought...what if it's a "charlie?"

These are "what if" rabbits, LOL!!!!!!

Mostly-white and shaded would be adorable.......so tempting, LOL.

Just like a REW, himilayan can hide any colour. However the points on a Himilayan can give us clues - Is her tail 'grey' on top and white underneath?

The inner ear being light just makes me think agouti. :?

Nope...solid white!!!

I ran out on a commercial break and took a bunch more pictures. There's white marks on her colored ears...one is more white than the other. :)

She's got white everywhere but the ears...and some white there too...normal "himi"-like eyes. :) The color on her ears looks greyish to me, not that that is a technical term, LOL.

I'm intrigued. ;)

I wondered if maybe there was something making them lighter like an Agouti gene or something like Otter except without rufus...

Well, if her feet and tail are white I vote for broken 'something'. The ears do remind me of an agouti but, as stated by Akane, it is not a popular colour in ND

I guess you'll find out in a month or so :D

Alas, she's a little young...maybe I'll have Christmas-surprise popples! :D
