Well, I think our cat is going to have a litter of kittens...
And my hog will also have a litter...

Spay clinic failed, don't know if I should try another or just wait until after she has them.
Hog is refusing to be separated from her two boyfriends...flat out refusing...I have no other pen for her, she rips, digs, lifts and just plows through it all and she's only a small pot belly. Ugh.

Anyone want kittens if and when they show? Take one home for free and get the rest free, too. heh.
Piglets are good, but not if the mom is being so daggon stubborn! Even with just a fence between them, she looses it. I really hope the boars won't kill them...
Going to try another pen tomorrow if she doesn't have them yet.

The thought of Spring being near really has gotten everyone crazed, eh?

I need the pass out smiley.

__________ Thu Feb 14, 2013 5:32 pm __________

Oh, picture of Piggette from today.

Why would the boars kill them? My 800 pound Tamworth boar is a great father and wouldn't dream of harming his kids.

Have you had issues in the past? Maybe it's a potbelly thing.

Oh no, new to hogs, so I have no idea if he would or not. I've read that some will even help make nests. I'm just paranoid because I don't know. Plus, they only have one shelter, made another for tonight, will make a better one tomorrow. But all three love to huddle in a pile together, that can be real bad for new piglets, no?

She's the smallest, hope she can keep them out. Black boar is the largest, but I don't think either are all that mean. At least, haven't heard nor seen any actual fight or argument, just nromal shoving and barking when they decide to bicker over food.

For the first few days, when they are still not very co-ordinated, you may need to worry about one getting smushed if they huddle.

My two sows don't allow the boar in their shelter but some of the piglets will sleep with him now they are weaned and it is getting too crowded in the girls dorm.

Oh! Piglets! :p You must post pictures when they come!
Kittens are nice too. If you were closer we would take some off of your hands. :D

Kitty started acting a bit weird, maybe she had a miscarage? Idk. She is making her broken meow, mehr-eh-eh-eh-eh-err type sound and rolling. She even wanted out a few minutes ago....Looks like Monday I will call a vet to schedule a spay if she keeps up her normal routine...

But piglets, I will post pics like crazy, like I always do! I fed them 4x today, normal amount and then handfuls. Porkette let me rub her more today. =D Dinner pig lets me pet him all over only when there's food. Porker plainly loves attention. I can hug, pet and kiss him, he flops over and is all like 'moar petting!!' Lol.

Ugh, yup, she is deff back to being a hussy cat. And now she gets to suffer being locked indoors until I can get the first place to spay her. We came home to two male cats in our yard. Too bad they didn't want to be caught and taken to the shelter...I hate cats that don't have a collar, no collar=wild to us and then not neutered, even more incentive to capture and send them off. Easier and cheaper to neuter a male.

No piglets yet.

__________ Fri Feb 15, 2013 8:50 pm __________

Contacted two places, hopefully they will get back to me and she will be fixed real soon!

I love love love kittens, but yes, get her in to be fixed! :)

And here's your passing out smiley!

Thanks for the smiley!

Kitty is still locked up, destroying the door with her non-stop clawing.
Piggy hasn't popped yet.

She had 4 piglets, 2 girls and 2 boys. Idk how they will do in the cold, they keep separating.

Considering they have practically have no hair, piglets are very cold tollerant. I would think with enough bedding and in a house without drafts the tiny pots would do ok with just mom as a radiator.

Did she end up bossing the boys out?

The adults shiver and they do have hair, so I don't believe it. I just want them to stay together.

Idk if she did or not, they come running when they hear me leave the house.

This one was still warm and wiggling. Rest cold and stiff.

__________ Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:21 pm __________

Ugh, two died from the cold. Brought the other two in to warm up and put them back out. Mom is doing her job right, but the babies keep crawling off in the wrong way...It's ridiculous that pigs have babies in winter and they are just as frail as baby chicks..
Oh well, can only hope they make it.
