There is not a 'rabbit overpopulation' just a lot of empty crockpots, and hungry people. That may sound harsh, but I know I'm saying what others here are thinking. Its ads like this that are creating a mindset that is going to take our rabbits away from us. So no, I don't think its a great ad.
What do I do when my pet rabbit gets sick? I treat them myself, because so few vets know diddly about rabbits, and then if they are doing poorly I put them down myself and bury them. Their prey animals, more fragile than predators like cats and dogs, not to mention that one vet bill can be 3 or 4 times the worth of the rabbit.

I use to work in an animal shelter and can tell you the Vets method of putting rabbits to sleep is not pretty. The animals are injected in the stomach, since a vein can be hard to find. They don't just "go to sleep". It takes time and is very painful to watch.
