I do not know the time line on blue NZ being recognized.

In my 4-H any rabbit can be shown as it is the husbandry and care that is important rather than pedigree but you will only know if you ask your local group. I have heard some horror stories about some 4-H clubs and their rules.

Read a bit about English Spots. I'd go for a Charlie and cross with a solid....100% broken or two broken and get Charlie's, selfs and spots. Is a spotty New Zealand still a New Zealand? Over here, reds are very rare.
