Anyone know where you can just purchase the little mini rubber ducks or turtles that come in some water bottles?

I have a bunch of bottles and need something that will float in them that I can see through the plastic that will show the water level. Something that I can shove into the hole and will float.

Suggestions????

Thank you.

Wine bottle corks are free- if you don't count the cost of the wine itself, anyway. ;) You might need to cut them to fit inside, but you could probably get several "bobbers" out of a single cork. :)

I would think corks would be a little light colored. I sometimes can't even see those bright yellow ducks or green turtles. They would be bigger though. You used to be able to get sheets of pure cork in dark colors from menards. I layered the back of a fish tank in them and then grew a moss wall on it.

I got a pack of 10 at my local wally world for $2.

Any chance you still have the packaging and could post a picture?

I went to Walmart yesterday and only found bobbers what have 12 pk with multiple sizes..... of which only 2 or 3 might fit inside the bottle....... So I didn't purchase them.

I must have missed something,
can someone please enlighten me?
Why is it that we need floats in our water bottles?

That way you can tell how much water is in the bottle. Some are hard to see though, so with a red or orange float it makes it easy to see the water level and know when to refill.

Thank you Jimmy,
I use two liter soda bottles and can easily
see what is left. However, there are times that a darker [Green]
bottle would maybe require a float or two.

I bet plastic "pony beads" (those larger plastic beads that you can use to atring necklaces for little kids) would work. The dollar store near me has.them in packs of a few hundred. Or, if you're as cheap as me, grab an extra drinking straw at a.fast food place or your grocery's deli, cut it with a scissors into 1/2" tubes and toss it in a bottle with the water. They're food grade, they'll ll float and won't cost you anything. Gas station drink fountains often have red ones. Probably a small nub of leftover birthday cake candle would work, too--water won't get warm enough to melt the wax and it's food grade.
