Flemish giants gave birth to a lopped ear

My Flemish giant rabbits gave birth to a lopped ear kit. I’m curious of the genetic implications of this. Is the lopped ear a recessive trait of Flemish giants?

If they were pure bred then no, they shouldn't have a lopped ear gene

These are the parents. They were supposed to be pure bred Flemish giants. They must have some lop eared gene in their lineage?

It's hard to judge size.... but they look a tad small to me and not quite flemish shaped. How big are they?

They’re around 17 lbs each

hmm... big enough. But the adage is... if you don't have a pedigree... as much as they can look like something, doesn't mean they are.
