Here is my jr white Flemish Giant doe, Althea! I am hoping to start a small hobby trio of breeding Flemish, starting with this girl. How does she look to you Flemish folk? Thanks!

Now, I am not a Flemmie breeder. I have never even owned one. This is just my opinion.

In the 4th pic she looks like her rise is flat and her HQ is undercut. Head and ears look good (again, I am not an expert LOL). She needs to fill out in that loin. In the 5th pic her back legs are too far back and are interfering with her pose.

I absolutely love her face, though! She looks so calm and relaxed. :) I bet she is a sweetheart.

Before I answer, a couple questions...

How old?
How much does she weigh?
And is she just very content or does she ever open her eyes?

She is about 7 or 8 months in these pics, not sure how much she weighs maybe 13 pounds or so? I don't have a scale. And of course she opens her eyes!!! LOL she likes being petted and posed, although I am new to the breed so I can't really pose them yet...

So she is squinty content and sucking up the love!

I have a friend with Flemish. He considers 15 lb at 6 months to be too small, but his buns are enormous! I know he would want longer ears as well but I think he would appreciate her face. I used to raise Americans and they have the same body shape. I would be looking for a little bit more rise over the butt.

From what you have described, her temperament sounds spot on for a breeding doe. Lovey and sweet.

Great this is going to help me when I pick out a buck he needs a nice rump haha! Yeah she could be 15 pounds, I'm just guessing her weight - she is a huge rabbit that's for sure! :) And thank you, she is very sweet!

I am pretty sure she has good, strong shoulders. But again, I raise a rabbit that has to have even shoulders to their HQ.

Agh, I just want to squish her! *smoosh*

To begin you need to get a side shot of the animal posed correctly. None of these are.

So here is how you do it. The front toes should be even with the eyeballs and elbows must be on the table, and the back toes should be even with the knee caps. There should be a well defined rise starting at or near the back of the shoulders and from there back it should be evenly round and end at the table. The highest point of the rise, or height of the butt should be at the top of the hips.

Measure from the end of the nose to the base of the tail. The rabbit must be longer than 20 inches as a senior. Ears should be greater than 5 3/4 inches long. The animal needs to be balanced and have heavy bone.

By posing correctly it will give you a clear picture of what her shape is and where she excels or lacks.

OK! I will try and get a better pose picture, I knew they weren't right haha and I'll post her measurements too, Thanks!
