The end of this month, I will be attending and showing at my first show in over 10 years.
Usually August in Okla is the hottest month, but this summer seems to have gotten all the heat out early, and this month hasn't been too bad. The show is the last weekend in August, and as long as the weather stays acceptable, I will be taking some of the bunnies, just for another opinion on them.
Of course, I will also be on the lookout for other E-lop breeders, and will be paying close attention to how they are shown. Things have changed so much since I got out.
When I left, both hollands and dwarfs were posed down and rounded. None of this standing up on their front legs stuff. I haven't worked too much with the babies to get them to pose, for fear that I will teach them wrong. I'll have a better idea of what the judges are looking for after the show.
Wish me luck!

You'll do fine! I was away from showing for over 20 years! I've been to 3 shows in the past year and it went well. Maybe my breed [standard Rex] doesn't have the same "posing" requirements that you're worried about. At least I don't remember anything like that at the shows I went to. And the judges were pretty helpful, for the most part, and willing to answer questions too! Have Fun!

I know what you're going thru. I did the same thing nearly 2 years ago after a 25 year hiatus from the showroom. Just get in there and mix with people and soon enough it will seem like you never left.

Sounds as tho a lot of us have 'returned' after a hiatus. Amazing watching what has changed and what is still the same.... Then there are a few New breeds to look at... including the bright red rabbit with the name i simply cannot pronounce !!!lol.

I agree I too went almost 30 years since my last. I went from Checkered Giants to Havana's. My biggest surprise was no comment cards. So I am one of a few who write down what the judge does say.

Some shows still have comment cards- the show I attended that didn't use them did have some available for owners to fill out themselves.

no comment cards? really??? most of the time I could never hear what the judge was saying anyway, so I really counted on them. maybe I'll get lucky and get a judge that has a voice.
...now to go figure out this crazy battery operated tattoo pen.....

Some folks pronounce it as "Tree-on-ta", while others pronounce it as "three-on-ta" Some of us just call 'em what they really are--Mini New Zealand Reds.

And for the record, "The Bright Red Rabbit" is better known as the Red Satin, one of which is on my avatar.

I've seen plenty of red mini rex, and no offense but they're not as bright as red satins.
