I live in New Zealand and I often post on the NZ rabbit forum on facebook. Often people post saying their rabbit lacks condition too thin etc... and people post back saying to feed them Weet-Bix. And it seems a lot of people feed their rabbits Weet-bix along with hay and pellets and other things. Weet-Bix is a lot like Shredded Wheat a morning cereal made out of 97% wheat. Could it be good for rabbits to eat this?

Here is the list of ingredients...

Whole Grain Wheat (97%), Sugar, Salt, Barley Malt Extract, Vitamins (Niacin, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Folate), Mineral (Iron).
Contains cereals containing gluten.

can't see it hurting 'em. The sugar is low enough in the list, that as long as it's not the primary food, should be okay... I should think. Let others weigh in on the conversation though first before making up your mind...

I have been feeding some human cereal to the bunnnies for awhile.
I feed oatmeal to the babies in a dish. They love schredded wheat
cereal. I check the ingredient and make sure sugar is low on the list.
It is a treat. Not a everyday meal.

I recently have fed them graham crackers. And empty ice cream cones.
Start at one end and work my way down the cages and each rabbit
is sitting at the door waiting. Not very patiently either :)

This works for me. It may or may not work for someone else.
Please read the ingredient lists.
To me, it is a grain product. Fit for a human.
Should be animal okay.
