That's what I do with the oats and BOSS, with the pellets that would hard to fit and to scoop from. Pellets are the only thing I empty directly into the cans, because they don't stay there long.

You could use silica gel desiccant. It is reusable- just pop it into a 200 degree oven until it dries out.

We get food grade buckets from a shop that sells smoothies- we pay $1 per bucket with lid. They are about 3 gallons, I think. We use them for our bulk food storage. I have too many rabbits for them to be of use storing their feed... although I think I will put my flax seed in some, since I bought 50lbs and it should last a while.
