This is one of the brokens from my recent litters. This would be considered a false charlie right? The funny thing is that all the brokens looks like this (I think there are 4 between the two litters and another that was DOA). Wouldn't you expect to get some "regular" brokens? I suppose it could have been just luck. I could have gotten some regular brokens that are REW or Himi. I just found it a bit odd. The sire is solid. Although, I noticed recently that his oldest daughter, has a very small pinprick of white on the tip of her nose. That is probably just coincidence and not a white pattern right?

Would you say this is a broken chin? They have to have to have chin as doe is REW and the buck is cchdc but they could be steel, chin, or self. I "think" the ear would have enough color that it would be darker on the inside if it was steel or self?

Thanks you ladies are great!

I agree it is likely an agouti (or tan) based kit

But

If the buck is "Cc" and doe "cc" then it is impossible to get chinchilla "cchd_" and this kit is chestnut (black agouti) or a light steel chestnut.

Alright, if the buck is "cchd c" and the doe "c c" then the kit is a chinchilla and could be a lightly marked steel chinchilla :)

A certain pair often throws brokens with similar pattern so it's possible to get litters where every broken is heavily marked or minimally marked. Sometimes even repeat litters with all similar brokens. I had a booted that when crossed to a heavily marked line made what I like to call dalmation mini rex. They had the spine color and head color and the rest was all splotched. Every time that doe was bred with a certain buck and his descendants I got these splotchy rabbits. With another buck or those bucks to another doe would get me something else.
