Anyone know if this is safe? I have to harvest a bunch today before hubby mows and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to give so much to everyone. They've been successfully introduced to them, fresh, without an issue so I would assume it'd be ok to toss them to buns. However, I was curious if it would be possible to dry the leaves and sprinkle them over their food in the winter months? I know that wilted dandelions can cause bloat, but I would assume the chemical makeup of the plant changes again once it's been dried.

Raspberry & Blue berry bush : Both are dried out and very stick-like from last season. Was hoping that they'd come back, but they never did. Is it ok to feed? I've lost the tags for them so I don't have any scientific names, and there's no leaves to go from. They're both very dried out and dead!

Plantago lanceolata (Narrow Leaf Plantain): Is this safe to feed? I don't have any of the broad leaf plantain anywhere near me, but what I think is Plantago lanceolata, instead. I'll see what I can do to get a pic.

EDIT: Added pics of what I think is Plantago lanceolata

I don't think the plant in the picture is a plantain... It looks more like like weeds that we call goat's beard - Tragopogon spp. Compare your plant to the one in these links. If it is the same one, it is safe for rabbits.

This is not to be confused with another group of plants called goatsbeard, Aruncus spp. Those common names make things so confusing!

You can dry most weeds for winter use. Pretty much the same idea as hay... but do make sure they are quite dry and store in an airy place. I use the large mesh bags that onions and oranges come in to dry the greens. Just don't pack them too full or they may go mouldy.

I wouldn't bother feeding long-dead blueberry or raspberry twigs to my rabbits. There won't be much good left in them.

Most excellent! The ID pics I was finding for comparison to the plantain were horrible.

The links you supplied are exactly what I have in the yard. Woot!! I now have TWO plants I can forage. My lawn might be long gone, but I've got at least two weeds!

Just to be clear, the "other goatsbeard" Aruncus may or May not be edible to rabbits. I've never researched it. I mentioned it only to prevent confusion between the two families of plants.

Gotcha... yeah, I looked up the plants listed in the 'other goatsbeard' and I don't have any of those.

I was referencing the Tragopogon spp. and the dandelion I have. :)
