I own two dogs, a 1/2 Australian Shepherd and 1/2 Golden Retriever named Clover. I also have Riley. She is a Golden Retriever. Riley is Clover's mom.

About Clover: Clover is my trick dog. She knows about 40 tricks/commands. I love her so much. She is a blue merle but with minimal merling, she looks mostly black with tan points and a but of white on her belly area. She was born November 11th, 2016. She was in a litter of 8. There were 5 boys and 3 girls. She weighs about 50 pounds and is actually quite small. She has aggression issues in her territory and with other dogs but is very sweet with people in public. She is fearful and shy.

About Riley: we got Riley off Craigslist. She was only $50 because her owners were homeless and couldn't take care of her. They said she ran out into streets and was crazy. She was about 1 when we got her and is now about 7. I love her! She is fat and super fluffy. She knows like 5 tricks/commands, but whatever. XD. She is dark Golden. She has had 2 litters, one with an AKC Aussie (Clover's litter)! And one accidental one with a Lab. She is now spayed.

Anyone else have dogs?

Welcome to Rabbit talk.
I have a 7 year old Weimaraner, named JD. A 6 year old Pit Bull, named Liberty and a 2 year old Cattle Dog named Scout.
JD is the last of my Weimaraner show dogs. She is an incredibly dominant and intelligent dog.
Liberty is a shelter special. I had seen her a few times online as her euthanization date was getting closer and I finally couldn't handle it anymore and went to the shelter to get her. I rescued her less than an hour before she would have been euthanized. The shelter was so full that they had 2 and 3 pits per run. Her kennel mate had attacked her at some point and her injuries had gone untreated, so our first stop was the vet. I've never quite understood how a shelter can not treat an injured dog but if a private citizen did that it would be neglect and abuse. After she had healed and got a clean bill of health than I was able to get her spayed.
Our cattle dog Scout is my husbands dog and he is all cattle dog. He herds me, my daughter, the other dogs, the rabbits, the cats.... doesnt matter. He is too smart for his own good, but he's got a good heart.

We have four dogs! I also have a Riley, she's an AKC black lab but nothing special - initially I wanted to show/breed her but she's mostly one of those AKC dogs that just has the fancy registration. She's also dumb as a brick. I have Buddy, a 1/2 lab 1/2 blue heeler. He's really something special, looks a lot like a black german shepherd, and is so SO smart. Then we have Copper and Todd, our beagles. Copper is 1/4 Jack Russel and 3/4 Beagle, lemon and white and very fat. She's out of renowned rabbit dogs from VA and it shows, we cannot have her anywhere near the rabbits. Todd is an AKC reg bluetick beagle and I really would like to show him. He's really a beautiful dog, but a major handful. He howls at literally everything, has a wicked short attention span, and teeth like needles. I'm looking into bringing in a female from another state since most of the beagles in AZ are related and I'd like to try my hand at breeding. I've always been mildly, ah, 'curious' about the dog show world and it's something I'd love to get into.

Hello yes i have three dogs. Our Golden Retriever Girl Dixie is now 9 years old. Although she does not look it. She is a needy girl. Always has to have your hand in her mouth as you walk through the house. She talks to you if you are not giving her the attention she thinks she needs. She used to love to play fetch. But now our younger dogs do that for her. If they are outside she will bring you a ball or toy talk to you with it in her mouth. As soon as you take it she has lost all interest in it. Her mother Sally would fetch anything at any time any where. Our next dog is a Rottweiler named Ava. She will be two July 30th, She is just the most loving girl you have ever seen. She likes strangers and other animals. She even helped me one time when a young rabbit jumped out of my grow out pen as i feeding them. She ran up to it picked it up and handed it to me. Not one mark on it. We have taken her through obedience class and she preformed well. She is great with kids both the large kind and the small kind. Our other dog is 7 months he is another Rottweiler named Atz. He came to this country by way of Serbia. His mother was PG with him when she came here. He is just a lover boy. He takes to training very well and is always by my side. He weighs 83 pounds already. He has developed a lump above his eye on the left side that our DVM tried to treat with Steroids and inflammation medication. It seemed to make the lump smaller but it did not go away. So we took him back for to see what is next. The DVM sent us to a specialist. The technician was licked so much she looked as if she had been through a car wash. Then the Vet came in and got the same treatment. They remarked out of all the big dogs they see on a daily basis Atz is one of a kind. I asked in a good way? They both at the same time said yes sir and he is so handsome. Anyhow they did a fine needle aspiration on his lump. The tests came back negative on any cancer cells. The cost was $600 for all that was done. Now they want to ether have a cat-scan done or an actual biopsy. With costs of that ranging near $3000.00. Without removing the whole lump. As they have to know for sure how much to remove around it if indeed it is something bad. So now we are taking a wait and see approach for a month to see if the lump gets any bigger. Before moving on to the next thing. So for now my boy Atz is in limbo with me by his side. Our breeder is concerned as he imported both of Atz's parents and was going to make them part of his breeding program. Which he says he has halted till we get this figured out. We have sent him copies of all paper work so far. He has told us and it is in our puppy contract that if i want a new puppy i can get one in an up coming litter. But as per contract i would have to let him take Atz. So far Atz is the only one of 12 puppy's that has this issue. Murphy's law sure is a *****!

Lol, your black lab sounds like Riley, pretty much dumb as a brick. Riley is sorta smart, but it a sassy bratty way, lol. :lol: And also, I love beagles! So cute! Our dogs like the rabbits, and sometimes Clover gets a but rough.

I haven't felt like composing that long of message :lol: I've posted my 4 dogs before. I throw some of our hiking pictures into a thread on the forum every year until I quit bothering to pull out a camera as the year goes on.

Azami was my first dog after I moved out of my mom's house and is 12years or so old now. AKC akita. She was my partner before my husband and second in command to me. Grudgingly she usually obeys my husband but still waits for me to reinforce what he says sometimes. She inherited a back problem from her mother but has not gone downhill anywhere near as fast since symptoms showed up 2 years ago. She just needs lifted into the vehicle now or occasionally helped off a rocky bank of lakes and rivers by her harness. Otherwise she's still doing well and managing to keep up. She grew up around all my animals and can adjust her force and responses to everything from guinea pigs and rabbits to chickens to horses to dogs and people.

Haruko was my husband's first dog he got shortly before we were married. AKC shiba and doesn't really have any pack mentality at all. She's never quite fit in and would slaughter every small animal in the house if not under threat of death for it. Azami is the only reason she does not cause more trouble than she already does. Lately she's been getting herself smashed by Aiko as she quits giving in to Haru's attempts to push her around. Despite being the smallest and best with people she's the one that concerns me the most around other dogs and all animals. What she intends to injure gets injured and she has intent.

Nijiro is a siberian husky we found after moving into the new house. She was a 6week old runt the mother had stopped feeding and the breeders were only giving her kibble. She was about the size of Azami's head and weighed about 3lbs when we got her. So underdeveloped she was all joints still and wobbling around. Azami's breeder estimated her equal to a 4week old 5 days after we brought her home. We fed her ground raw meat patties until she matured better and was doing fine on kibble. She stopped growing at 40lbs slightly overweight. Niji is horribly concerned about getting in trouble and probably has the least obedience training of any of them because it was never really necessary. She went to take a food wrapper once while I was eating and I just watched her for amusement. She slowly slid the wrapper from the table and started to creep off with it. Noticing I was still staring at her she stopped about 5 ft away and glanced back several times. Then she turned around, brought the wrapper back, set it on the floor next to the table, licked it, and left. :lol: We've had a few issues with her inability to understand more aggressive behavior from the others. She can't tell when Azami and Aiko are wrestling or fighting so she's decided the same amount of force is acceptable when she wants something from Azami. Everyone else knows you don't challenge a female akita. Azami quickly figured out how you safely hold a smaller dog by the scruff without harming it so if Niji acts up I assure Azami I have it under control and she releases the little husky unharmed to be sent to her hiding place on a blanket under my husband's desk or the crate with something to chew on until she cools down.

Aiko is my 18month old essentially mutt. A cross of multiple working dogs in Canada with no pedigree of her breeding. Potentially wolf hybrid, probably mostly Inuit dog that started as wolf hybrids for working in harsh conditions and were refined into an actual breed that kept the wolf look but not temperament in the 1980's. They were used to portray dire wolves in Game of Thrones. Usually we just tell people she's a malamute cross because it's the only for certain named breed in there. She does not have intent to kill the small animals but she's a 65lb bulldozer and a couple times things have died to her attempts to keep them still for investigation or trying to "help" us. She's improving. Not everything that goes in her mouth is instantly smashed to pieces and after lots of trading "give" or "drop it" are mostly obeyed commands. She completed agility class with only a little rope burn on my hands. She doesn't go far but she covers so much ground in one bounce that she hits the end of a leash as hard as a horse before realizing it. Normally I just give her a 6-8' leash attached to my waist and she maintains 6' around me until I ask her to do something so her obedience seems worse than it is in situations where I'm adjusting the leash to varying lengths in my hands. That and her constant need for motion tends to wind up all dogs around us and concern people. She doesn't make a good fishing partner yet for that reason. The ground gains lots of "frustration holes" and one time she dug a 2nd hole out of frustration that Azami was taking up her frustration hole while we had them staked behind us. Her brain utterly breaks at having to be still. Her responses are usually quite level headed and intelligent though so we're crossing our fingers her energy settles down to match as she matures. She does finally seem to be getting her adult brain instead of an overgrown puppy. It has caused some clashes in the pack as she's no longer the beating dummy every time the smaller 2 are annoyed about something but she has never reacted with any real aggression. The smaller 2 get knocked around with a few squeaks at how much stronger and faster she is. Only Azami will agree to play with her since she was about 6months old.

We have a beautiful Shepherd Cross Mutt Named "Princess"
We got Princess in late November 2013(?)
She was around a year old ..... We were looking for a dog to fit our family that was over 1 year old and fixed.

We went to our local Humane Society and proceeded to "interview" dogs for 1/2 hour sessions each. We have two cats as well, so the dog had to pass a "cat test" before coming home with us.

Princess was near the end of the week. She had just been released from quarantine. She was thin and almost hairless. She crawled under our chair and layed there panting and looking at us from the "sides of her eyes" .... We sat calmly and talked, leaving a hand hanging down for her to investigate our scent without trying to touch her.... after about a half hour we moved forward to touch her and she was in love and we were in love with her..... she passed the "cat test" with flying colours!!

Turns out Princess was pregnant and had a litter of 9 puppies Jan1... The Humane Society worked with us to find them all new homes. They also fixed her at no additional costs.

Princess had a few trust issues.... she would bark like a junk yard dog at any adult wearing a ball cap and sunglasses. Her preferred method of getting rid of people (that scare her) was to charge them at full speed with the full junk yard dog look; swerve by them at the last minute then come up behind them barking the whole time..... She has never had an issue with children, small dogs or small critters (unless they run).... Her and I had one "conversation" when I caught her plucking a live chicken during her first year with us... not an issue now..... she still barks at anyone on "her yard" or coming into "her house" except Pete and I. We have worked VERY HARD socializing her.

She has our HEART, sleeps on our bed and we set a schedule around her walks. We have started camping instead of travelling to the Caribbean for vacations, so she can come with us. She is better with strangers, because we have let her know that we are there to protect her.
