New breeder here, my doe has just given birth to a lovely size baby, only one though…. She then managed to get out the cage and lay down on my carpet, I was thinking do you think she’ll have more as the one kit born is unfortunately a still born
Yeah, I went up 3 hours after the first was born and there was a 2nd kit in the middle of her cage dead unfortunatelyis this the doe's first litter?
What causes thisIt's not uncommon (for me at least) for a Doe to have an unsuccessful first Litter
Sometimes they’re too young, sometimes stress, sometimes they just don’t naturally get it, sometimes the weather was too hot when she was bred. It could be a number of things. Usually time and experience takes care of these things. And some breeds just are better at first littlers than others. Let her recover, take care of the one you’ve got, and try again later. What causes this
