Hi, I have a doe that's in what I believe is GI Stasis. On Sunday she didn't look quite normal, didn't eat her pellets and had smaller poops but I gave her some oatmeal and she ate that, also drank a little bit. Yesterday she had a few tiny poops in the morning, but I couldn't get her to eat anything. I have been following several threads on here and I tried almost everything all day yesterday, syringed water, electrolytes, simethicone and benebac (not all at once). Gave her wet dandelion weeds and other things to tempt her to eat, nothing. She is also pregnant and due to kindle on Wednesday. Yesterday evening I examined her and found a big lump of wet poo on her butt. I cleaned her up as best I could and was hoping that was getting things started again. This morning she had peed but nothing else and still hadn't eaten anything. About an hour later I found she had pulled a little fur and had four babies in the nest. I looked at her again and found more wetish poop (not really runny but mushy) along with blood on her rear. Cleaned her up again as well as I could (used some wipes to get off the majority of poop). Is there anything else I should do? Don't know if I should try and get her to take more water or just leave her alone for awhile. Sorry for the long post, but of course she is my favorite doe :(

One of the things not mentioned in those threads is exercise. I know that getting a gassy rabbit to run around is helpful, so if that is part of her problem I would let her out to romp around.

Before doing that you should probably palpate her to see if she has more kits inside of her... not because I think exercise would harm them, but because you will want to watch her carefully in case she starts to deliver them while out. I would also keep her out for a shorter amount of time if she isn't finished kindling- maybe just five minutes or so as opposed to ten or fifteen.

Some does do go off feed before they kindle, so that in itself isn't too worrisome. Hopefully the poop that was stuck to her was just cecotropes, but just in case I would give her some strawberry or blackberry/raspberry leaves or the weeds plantain or Shepherd's purse. They are very beneficial for digestive upset.

Good luck with her! I hope that you are just worrying unnecessarily because she is your favorite. :clover:
