I am so sorry you lost Moon! :( It sounds like she was in terrible pain, and you made the right decision.

What you and your friend accomplished is amazing, though! How wonderful to be able to save her babies! :bouncy:

Thank you all!!! I'm still quite amazed that we were able to do it successfully! I meant to get pics today and totally forgot. They all seem to be thriving. Dear Ivory is doing a great job with her large blended litter! LOL Oh, and the ones that I thought were REW are definitely not. They are a light silvery blue now. I swear last night they were totally pink without a trace of color! Haha! I may have 2 Blue Points, a Blue Tort and maybe a Blue Seal Point? Time will tell. I'm so impatient when it comes to finding out their colors!

MSD, do you get the oyster shells at your feed mill? I need to go this weekend...I'm definitely going to get some sort of calcium! I've got 4 more does due in the next month and I really want to do everything I can to avoid this again!

How I wish I could find a local feed mill!

I bought the oyster shell from Tractor Supply Company.

MamaMandy- if I'm not mistaken, there is an oyster shell package at TSC that is designated as "chick grit". It is smaller in size, and might be better for buns than the regular chicken grit, which can be larger and sometimes sharp.

I think Moon would thank you for saving her little ones, despite the cost.

That was a very thoughtful point to bring up. :) :judges:

You always say the nicest things, Marinea. :grouphug:

Sooo sad that you lost Moon :( but you did amazing with the emergency C-section - you really should be proud of how you handled the situation. Best of luck to the little ones, I hope they turn out nicely for you!! :)

Thank you all for the kind, encouraging words! I really appreciate it so much. :grouphug2:

I finally got a pic of the little miracle babies! We've got 3 blue points and a blue tort. We're going with a space/star/planet theme for names since the parents were Moon and Sky. I think the blue tort will be called Jupiter since he's orangey. My son came up with that one and I liked it! Not sure on names for the others yet. They are doing great with their foster doe and her babies are thriving as well! I still can't believe what a great outcome we've had from such a sad and stressful situation.

Oh, and that is not their nest that they are in. I just put them into that basket for the pic.
