ok,
thanks, I think.
The lady I got her from was selling all her rabbits, and Marshmellow was one of the last

The reason I asked was because I've recently had some vienna x broken kits, and they all came out looking like false charlies. I don't know if it's the vienna gene acting up, or if the doe is just passing on these very light markings.

People tattoo their bunnies so they can tell them apart, wth a bunch of black rabbits it can be hard to tell who's who, it doesn't mean he can be shown.

If you do want to show him, you need to have a 3 generation pedigree to prove he is a purebred and he cannot have any disqualifying marks like a white toe nail. There are things other than showing that you can do with your rabbit, contact your local rabbit club or 4-H to find out more.

You do not need a pedigree to show. The rabbit just has to look like the breed. However the odds of them doing well on the table without 3 generations or more of that breed behind them are low.

Since his ear is tattooed you can show him. Entry fees are usually $3.50 for one show or $6 for two. There are usually two shows at an event, an A and a B show, sometimes more.

If you can pose them and take pics from the side, top, and back, I'm sure the lop breeders on the forum can give you some input as to whether they look show worthy. If they are, and you can find a show in your area, I would enter them and see how they do. Even if the rabbit is disqualified for some reason, the judge will give an opinion on its characteristics.

Not sure how the lop standards read, but if it were a black satin with white (not gray) foot pads, it would be a showroom DQ.

what about it?????

You asked for info on the holland lop standard. Do a little research. It's a great site.

Click the link for holland lops so you can read about the standard and see pictures of kits and adult buns.

how do you get the rabbits to stay still?

A lot of time, work, and patience. Some take to it more readily, but not working with the rabbits before taking them to a show is a sure fire way to turn a judge against your rabbit. If a rabbit annoys a judge by not allowing normal handling, you're practically guaranteeing yourself that she or he will place your rabbit lower in its class than normal.
