Dark alfalfa hay?

So, I cruise craigslist for deals as often as I can. I actually found a litter of nine buns in the free section a week ago! Yay for more meat! Lol

Anyways, I found an ad for two bales of "dark hay, unsuitable for horses but okay to feed to cows", for $9.

I know nothing of hay. Why would it be okay for cows but not horses. And would it be okay to feed to my rabbits?

Don't feed it to your rabbits. Dark hay is usually moldy hay. Horses have very delicate digestive systems like rabbits. Cows can eat just about anything, they have four stomachs. Moldy hay or feed can kill rabbits and horses.
