I had my doe all settled down and was just rolling her over for an exam when the neighbor dog ran up on the other side of the board fence and started barking. Before I knew it the back of my right hand was raked by her hind feet and I got a couple stripes on my belly from the front feet. It's the first time she's ever been anything but sweet but boy did I get it.

The funny thing is the rabbit was bigger than that little ankle biter. She could have taken him in a fight.

No sweat!
If you get a few nice scares, it's just the mark of a true
Rabbit Breeder! I do believe we ALL have more than just a few memorable scares
from our rabbit experience.
Ottersatin. :eek:ldtimer:

I hate belly scratches. They're the worst. You have my sympathy.

My 80lb akita decided to "help" with gender sorting on the 8week old meat rabbits and licked one in the face. He took to screeching and balled up with feet flailing. My little finger was bleeding for the next 6 rabbits.

take a pair of old socks, and cut out the toe, now you have forearm gaurds

Neosporin plus pain relief. Takes the pain out of rabbit scratches for me, and helps them heal much faster! :) I get the generic.

Dad burn yapper!
