When crossing a solid(out of two broken) to a broken that is 85% solid(out of two broken) what is the ratio of booted? I know mother nature is a crap shoot but what or is there genetic information to figure these probabilities?(like homozygous in paint horses and OLW gene)

Any broken crossed to a solid should produce 50% broken but you cannot determine what kind of broken - booted, evenly marked or false Charlie

Unfortunately, the modifiers that determine how much white the English Spot/broken gene puts on a rabbit are not cut and dry like and act more like Rufus in that there are degrees of whiteness :(

It makes sense that a booted broken will be more likley to produce booted brokens and conversly false Charlie's will likely produce more false Charlie's and evenly marked begets more evenly marked :)

We're the broken parents of the solid booted?

We're the broken litter mates (excluding any charlies ;) ) booted?

If so then you have a better chance of getting more booted brokens

Yea it's not possible to tell. My booted threw 50-70% white with most solids. One of my heavily marked brokens threw 2 booted with a certain solid. It's more likely you will get a good pattern if you use a solid that has good patterns in it's background and a broken with a good pattern but nothing is guaranteed. Sometimes the broken color modifiers just don't line up right even with rabbits that should throw nice brokens.

Thanks for the replies and they are in line with what I was thinking. I will look back at the pedigree and see what is there. Either which way I plan on crossing them and then crossing my fingers!
