This is my unexpected NZR Buck, he's about 7.5 weeks old now. I don't show, and so I don't know really how to pose and all that, but looking opinions on him, type and color wise.

If someone has a quick guide to posing, I would be willing to give it a shot...

Plop him on some sort of carpet and...here, I work better with a list:

1 - put one hand on his hindquarters and one over his face
2 - push his hindquarters forward until his hind legs are about even with his hip bones, don't squish him too much (you'll be able to tell, he'll look squished rather than posed
3 - tada! not hard :)

Take some of behind him, over top of him, and one on each side. Hard to tell in this picture.

that's what I needed. Thanks!

__________ Wed Apr 06, 2011 1:12 pm __________

ah forget it, he won't stand for it. have to work with him a bit and try later.

I'm going to try posing mine next time I take pictures :p that sounds far simpler then the descriptions on how to pose I've heard before  and your buck is such a pretty red! Makes me want a red nz...there is a 1 1/2 year old red nz doe w/pedigree posted on craigslist near me for $25...hmmmm...Do you think I should ask for pictures/more info? Your buck is sooo pretty...

I like the reds best myself, I probably wouldn't be able to restrains myself from at least asking for pictures. Nobody has them around here, had to bring these from San Antonio on one of my recent trips, so it's unlikely that I would have that opportunity.

You should buy her and keep her for me the next time I go thru oregon! :p

Or breed her and sell me a kit...

I'll admit I will probably end up with some pedigreed red nz's...they are just so pretty! I believe Paula has some and there are 2 or 3 breeders near me that have them as well as whites and blacks, so I bet we could set you up with unrelated stock next time you're this way :D

So they still haven't responded to my email, but I noticed they posted a new ad for her with a picture and she went up $5 http://salem.craigslist.org/grd/2310243133.html this is the picture they put up of her 3m23o13l15T65R25S5b468afdd633a8c71ca4.jpg
What do you think? Is she worth it? xlt's buck looks so much better to me...I don't know...

She's very pretty. It's hard to tell much about the little buck.

They both look so light to me! LOL

the buck is really young still, hasn't hit his first molt even, his mother is really pretty dark I think. Just have to wait and see I guess.

I am planning on breeding him back to his dam, as I don't have any other reds at the moment, hopefully will consolidate some of the rufus modifiers. This is the dam, Strawberry.

Thank you! I like her a lot, but she's a little grouchy :). Litter size has been steadily increasing though, so I guess I'll put up with her :).

He's pretty good, I find the young reds are pretty energetic compared to the others. His sire is pretty laid back most of the time (except breakfast time).
