I wish I knew somebody close who could help me hands on but I've yet to find a person - so I feel like I'm flying blind and just making guesses! Hope you all could maybe help ***** what I have. I'm still not great at getting a rabbit in pose and then getting a shot. Sometimes I get the shot and sometimes I get the pose but it's rare that I get a shot with the rabbit posed! I have six bunnies that I need to make a decision about, I can't keep them all and I need to make my culls - These first three are all does, I figure I can post photos of the bucks a little later :)

I know this won't help as I don't show, but I think Ginger is gorgeous!

...and then I see the color of Lovey...beautiful!

 that's okay - I have a really hard time because I see one and I think - "you're so pretty!" and then I look at the next and get all mushy over it and before you know it I'm just sitting out there snuggling bunnies and not getting anything productive done.

I did place them in my order of favorites- I so think Ginger is a movie star! ;) - but I feel like I have 'mom blinders' on and not making a good assessment!

I like Gingers body and Skippers head best but Skippers shoulders are very wonky and I would cull her for this alone so my first pick is Ginger (to be bred to a buck with a great head), Lovey bred to an outstanding buck and Skipper last.

This is how to correctly pose your minilops.
the front toes should be even with the eyeballs with the elbows on the ground.
The back toes should be even with the knee caps. In all your photos, the feet are way too far forward. No worries. this is the most common posing mistake.

Minilops should be a ball with a head, literally. No neck. the rear end should be full to the floor, rather than undercut and the ankles should sit wide apart, rather than coming to a point near the tail. When you look from above, they should be wide. the taper from the shoulders to the hips should be slight, no more.

Mini lops are supposed to be massive and thick for their size. balanced, muscled and compact.

Re pose then take the side and birdseye shots. This will allow you a more accurate view for evaluation purposes.

I appreciate the tips 0 :) I took some more photos over the weekend - would you all like to see them? I feel like I'm posting a ton of photos! :x

I figure I'll put in a link to a photo bucket album and you can check them out there. The boys were not into posing and one (you'll see) didn't pose once! But I added his best shot just so you can see him. He's a pretty active little guy and by little I do mean he is the smallest of the six. Other than that I think I did a better job this time around - Right now I think the best three are Ginger, Gilligan, and Thurston (in no particular order) and then Lovey, Skipper and Professor.

(I did have a Mary Ann but I found her one day with a broken leg :( - have no idea how )

Much better! ginger and thurston are the two that are posed the most correct. the chestnut (gilligan?) is way off. look at his side shot next to thurston and you can see the difference. look at the feet. Have someone help you if you can. You just need to practice with them. Practice posing and holding them in place. Your hand should be on the head because you want their chin on the ground.

when I pose a rabbit of this body type (compact) I put my left hand on the head and use the tip of first finger and thumb to hold the front toes in place. Then I use my other hand to first adjust the back feet. Feel the knees and place the toes there. Then while holding the head and run your hand over the body, shoulders to butt, feeling as you go. The rabbit will relax at some point. And the you can gently shove the whole body, palm on rear forward just a touch to tighten up, but beware pushing the back feet forward as they need to stay even with the knees.

You will notice things as you do this. Such as hips that stick too far up or shoulders that are long and low or a butt that pinches under instead of meeting the floor. Remember, hard ball with a head, no neck.
