Connor is failing, and fast. I had made arrangements to prepay is cremation-- but his end of life may come sooner than expected. He has refused kibble for a full 24 hours now, and has shown little interest in any yummy human food, like chicken or sausage. On the upside-- I knew this was coming-- and a friend is already training a Great Pyr to act as a temporary successor until the 'true' successor can be acquired. I'll be without a dog for a few months, as I will need to grieve and adjust. I don't know if Connor has a few hours, or a few days left in him. All I can do now is hope that he is still recognizing me, and that any discomfort he may feel is minimal.

Awww, Terry! I'm so sorry! {{{{{Hugs}}}}}!!! Didn't know this was going to happen so soon! I was thinking months, by what you've said before, or even a year or two.

There has been a rally on Connor's part-- One of my State people just left- she was here to verify that he was, indeed, not well off. I am liquefying his food so he can slurp it up-- making arrangement for his end-of-life is ahrd-- especially, since in my book, he is still 'young' I have my dog back for a few minutes today-- the story will be different by lunch time, I am sure. It is is hard on me-- But I have lived through the same type of situation before. These decisions are never easy--I was hoping he would pass on his own, but sadly, I must help him cross the bridge-- or we will both be riding a roller-coaster with no end of pain in sight. I remember, though, that Bally rallied once I had 'agreed' to help him pass. Maybe it is their way of telling me, "it's okay".

I'm sure Connor would tell you "it's okay" in this situation. Poor boy, sometimes it is the last great kindness we can give our animal friends. Glad you have your dog back for a short time anyway.
