These are two of my daughter-in-laws kits
Could you please tell me what color they are considered?

They are just meat mutts, but we are trying to learn to identify colors.

Black Tricolor and brown chestnut is my guess.

not sure what the first one is.. kinda looks broken orange. the second one is a broken chestnut.

I agree with @ladysown - the second is a broken chestnut but that first one is tricky!

Seems like a bit too much black to be orange... ears, esp. the left, and spine markings look too speckled or spotted to be just smut...leaving me to lean toward @Cosima's guess of tricolor, if a very lightly-marked one. So to the usual question...any harlequin in its background?

could maybe be a harlequinized broken chestnut with high rufus as well.....

Sorry for the delay in response. Yes, the Dam has the same Grand Sire on both sides and he was a harlequinized castor.
