I'm new to both otter colors and orange.
Please know right from the start this is not about showable color results for me.
I know otters are not showable in V-Lops.
I just want to know what the possibilities in colors are breeding a blue otter to an orange.

Thanks much, as always! :)

These colors for sure:

chestnut agouti
opal

black otter
blue otter

orange
fawn

Torted otters will be possible. (please take pics :) )

Could be more colors if both rabbits have recessives, for example the orange doe will carry chocolate from her lilac dam (she will be able to throw chocolate or lilac colors), but the buck may or may not have it, and since it's recessive, you won't see it without 2 carriers.
It's possible they could both have recessives on their c locus too, offering rew, shaded, or chinchilla variants.

Your doe should be: A_ Bb C_ Dd ee (Aat or Aa)
Your buck should be: at_ B_ C_ dd Ee

So you could get Chestnuts, Opals, oranges & fawns, and black & blue tans and foxes, possibly self black/blues or torts.

Wow! Loving the variety of possible colors!! :D
I had no idea. I'm thrilled.

Thanks SO much!!

They're young now. Probably 4 months before we'll try to breed them.
