The other eye is fine. This kit is a little over 2 weeks old. My 12 year old brought him in today and said she noticed the eye problem a couple days ago. The eye isn't crusted shut. We did remove what looked like a ball of pus or junk from under the eye lid and we're hoping it will resolve on its own.

Any advice?

He's a meat rabbit so I'm not overly concerned about him not having use of his eye other than making sure he doesn't get an infection or have any pain. What I mean to say is, being blind in one eye isn't a big deal to me. I just want to make sure he's okay.

It could be a scratch or other injury. Squinting is often a sign of pain/irritation. Check his eyelashes to be sure none are curled inward irritating the eye. You can irrigate the eye with chamomile or black tea (warm or cool) in case there is a foreign body in the eye.

He doesn't open it at all. I'm hoping that what we took out today is what was bothering him and he'll be better tomorrow. If not, I'll work on him some more.

I had the same issue, scratch from mom, thought I lost the eye. Eventually it did crust over. But I left him alone and 2wks he was fine and eventually opened the eye and everything was a-ok.
