I keep a sticky fly paper trap near the rabbit cages to help keep down the number of flies. Last night was windy and the fly paper blew into my 10 week old MR doe's cage of course she pulled it down, she now has sticky fly bits all over her :x any tips on how to remove it or am i just going to have to wait until she sheds it out?

Ewww! Maybe the things that work for gum in hair will work? Peanut butter, oil, vaseline, vinegar, or a hair product like Biosilk may help get it out. Rub the product into the affected areas and use an old toothbrush and brush toward the ends of the fur. You can also try ice cubes to freeze the glue, making it brittle and easier to break up/comb out. There are also medical adhesive removers (for when people get body parts stuck together by super glue) but I'm not sure where you could buy them.

Wd-40 or a product like Gunk-off would probably work well, but then you would need to bathe the poor thing too, as you wouldn't want her ingesting it while grooming herself.

I got most of it off she wasnt too happy with me though  Oh and fly pieces are gross!!!

I used a flea comb and some baby powder, then a bath with a little dawn dish liquid. Didnt get it all out she is still a bit sticky on the belly, but the flies are gone!

And now you are busy trying to get the goo out of the flea comb, no doubt!

 yup!! But It's easier than removing it from the rabbit. My fly paper is now hung further away from the cage

You can get medical adhesive remover from any medical/first aid supply store. I used it regularly with my Boxer when she was a pup
