I am goin to go look at some rabbits this weekend. The ad has two pics which seem to show rew, chesnut, broken, jap harli. When i go i was wondering which colors are best if i was going to try and breed for harli and/or tri.

From my understanding harli is the solid gene and tri is the broken gene. And theres red-black harli and white-black is jap harli. Possible isses of jap harli is making other harli or tri from.them having real light red ((somethin causing low rufus factor or the needed modifiers??))

So from what i know now good ones would be harli, tri, nice reds, nice broken reds,... and any related to the harli/tri..? Anything else? Any other tips or things for breeding for them?

Thanks :)

The black/white harli is called magpie, the black/red is japanese, if you add in the dilute gene you can get fawn/blue japanese or blue/white magpies.

As far as I can tell, you've got a pretty good grasp on the genetics aspect. Now all you need to do is put it into practice :D

:yeahthat:
White and black magpies are chinchilla (or sable) harlies

Because most chinchilla bloodlines have been bred to remove Rufus factors, as they cause sootyness, it is not recommended to breed harlies or tris to them as you are likely to loose the rich red and get paler kits
