My first show of 2014 is Saturday, in Sioux Falls SD, and I absolutely can't wait!! I'm taking four Mini rex does, three of which are homebreds, and I'm sooo anxious to see how they do. I'm pretty much counting down the hours. :D The "girls" are ready too; their fur looks amazing with all this cold weather we've been having.

Is it Saturday yet?? :bounce:

Thanks! The otter doe I'm taking just needs one more leg for her Grand Championship... I'm hoping she can get that last leg this weekend! I'm also taking a pair of really nice juniors and I can't wait to get comments on them. :)

Same here, a show this weekend. The jrs I'm taking have 2 shows under their belt(s) already and are finally starting to mature enough to compete. Prior to now, its' been, " they're nice and have potential, just need to mature, etc... The only downside, is, I lost a really nice sr buck this past week. He had recently turned sr and had picked up his sr legs at his last show winning BOV in both shows. I'm thinking he may have picked up more than a leg, as it wasn't too long after that, that he went off his feed. Others haven't shown any signs of distress, though, so its hard to say. I had bred him shortly before this, so thought well, at least I'd still have his genes in the herd. Due date was this past Monday and still nothing. She (the doe) is enjoying the heck out of the nestbox in this cold weather though. Who said raising rabbits was easy?? LOL.

Good luck on your show! Only 2 more weeks till I take my first rabbit to show! I know she probably won't compete well since she doesn't have much in the guard hair category, but it will still be fun to see how she does!
