Speedwell had her first litter~ bred to Royal, our Cali buck (chch)
She flipped the nest and the whole litter was chilly when my husband got to them.
I am assuming the two kits that look greyish/ lilac-y are chilled himis?

(first and third light coloured kits from the left)

(poor little skinnies! They had a special feeding after these pics!)

(there are fawns in the litter so there *could* be lilac, but seems more likely to be chilled?)

Judging by the other white kits it is likely they are chilled himis

But...

Wait till their eyes open.

They could be frosty, sallander or sable points, or even magpies since you don't know if Speedwell carries chin or sable on her C-locus

Always a but.... LOL
She had a very colorful litter, and her daddy is unknown, so we'll see.. I guess red eyes (or not) will tell the tale...

They could be chilled himi but it looks like there are a lot of recessive genes in that pair. The silvery blue is often the kit color of a sable based rabbit.

Does the chilled coloring stay until they grow out their baby fur?
I'm trying to be patient for eyes opening up in the next few days ;)

Sorry maybe a dumb question but what is a chilled himi?

Our blue doe x himi buck had 7 kits--4 blue and 3 himi but how do I know if they are chilled?

The himilayan colour is temperature sensitive so the cooler parts of the body (nose, feet, ears, tail) will have dark pigment.

A baby that get "chilled" will have darker fur over its entire body and not be white with just the points darker

The darker fur will eventually grow out as they moult
