Timothy biscuits (see photo): I probably shouldn't have started on these, but the rabbits started as pets. And sort of still are. And now the rabbits like my spouse more than me because he feeds them treats every day. But... they are more expensive than breakfast cereal. o_O I did try making bunny granola once with some timothy hay ends that were too short and a little molasses to hold it together. Whew! What a mistake! Smelled like a vegetable soup gone very wrong and the rabbits would not touch it.

But how hard can this be? Does anyone else make biscuit-like treats for their rabbits?

The bunnies also get occasional slices of apple, carrot leaves, dandelions, dark-leaved lettuces, thornless blackberry branches and leaves, amaranth, sunchoke stalks, willow branches, and more seasonal goodies from our organic homestead. But I'm talking about something like a small cookie. So my spouse can continue to be a hero. ;)

Has anyone tried any of the bunny treat recipes at https://bunnylady.com/5-homemade-rabbit-treats/? Seems like a lot of fruit, but then the portions are small. Seems like a good way to use the pellet dust at the bottom of the bag and the little hay pieces that would just fall through the pen. I can imagine it would work well with the alfalfa leaves that insist on shattering when dry, as well as dry timothy chopped fine.
