If a rabbit is culled out of a herd because it "might" have pasturella can it be processed for human consumption? Would there be a way to tell during processing?

I don't think it would be a problem. Let's face it, pasteurella is pretty common in rabbits... It's only when the symptoms develop, usually when the rabbit is under stress, that it is culled. If it is dormant you would never know.

From the various research that has been posted, it looks like the meat is safe to eat, even from a raging case of "snuffles". It's a disease of the lungs and organs. I would NOT eat the organs, since they filter out the various bacteria, etc. But the meat? sure.
