My Bun's birthday is tomorrow an I want to make him bunny biscuits as a treat. The receipt calls for:

1 small carrot, pureed
1/2 banana, mashed until really creamy
1 tbsp honey
1/4 cup rabbit pellets, ground finely in a coffee grinder
1/4 cup whole wheat flour

I do not have whole wheat flour is it okay to use regular flour instead?

Please help me. I would have to go to the grocery store tonight if I am going to do this.

:welcomewagon:

Regular flour should be fine, it just has less fiber. If you have wheat germ, you might want to use a TBSP of that to replace some of the flour. :)

Happy Birthday to your bunny! :)

As a special birthday treat, it should be fine. I would likely cut the honey back a bit. A little goes a long way and that recipe is already high in sugars from the carrot and banana. :bunnyhop: :pancake: :bunnyhop:

Thank you! I plan to use regular flour. I think I will omit the honey all together since I do not have any of that already in my home. How do you guys feel about adding a little timothy hay to the ingredients and a tiny piece of apple (apples are his favorite)?

You could substitute applesauce for honey if you have it. Some diced apple might be a tasty addition or you could add raisins and craisins (dried cranberries)- most rabbits love them.

Just make sure not to give the birthday-bunny too much at once! Too much "cake" isn't good for anybunny! ;)
