I have a young buck with fantastic coloring. His mother is 13 lbs and father is 9 lbs. He will "probably" not be as large. Will he produce larger offspring, as his genetics are from large rabbits or is it all based on how large he himself actually gets? Another thread brought up the question in my mind, but I didn't want to hijack it. (Hypharm genetics and a guy down the road)

Thanks for any info/experience with this.

if long term you want to have big rabbits, he won't be the one to hold back.
if long term you want to have smaller rabbits, he might well be one to keep.
If you want to have larger breed rabbits with a colour you like, then he would be one to keep, and you can keep breeding him to large does. In time, you should get a larger rabbit with similar colouring and then you can keep his offspring.
