Hi all,

I don't post often, and actually had to change my sign in because my last was mine and my ex's, but I wanted to share the 4 new cages I built for my new silver fox's.

Eventually I want to do a small scale version of the "Meals on Wheels" (which is genius) and I even have purchased my trailer for it it will have around 12 holes and I hope to use it with the SF and Tans (which will be a new adventure after Rex's, Mini Rex, Polish, EA, and Brittania Petite)

So without further ado, my new setup

That really looks nice but, I would use 1/2" or 3/4" conduit to support the cages from the top going through the inside of the top at outside edges and then tighten the s hook around tight so when they bounce it they don't bounce off the hooks,Chain would be better than the straps. jmho.

Welcome back! (Who did you used to be??)

The cages look great, but I agree, I would be scared to death of those straps. I have hanging cages, and we used EMT (electrical conduit).

Hubby says those straps can become very brittle and break in cold weather. He said if you don't want to re-work it for the conduit, maybe try some swing chain and those little "u's" that screw closed instead of the straps.

Wait, meals on wheels??? I know someone from another forum who calls his rabbitry meals on wheels.

I actually just have the straps there temporarily,to keep the cages off of the ground, I have chickens on the bottom. I am currently building a PVC frame with a second level and slanted dropping pans. This is just to show the cages structure.

I couldn't remember firemans acct, obviously that's not what my rabbitry name is...see username. I was just saying that I appreciate his design and would find it useful on my property as we are getting ready to dispose of the rabbit structure next year in favor of that

Username used to be ArcticBuns, it's been a year or so though

I remember you!

The cages look great! the buns should be very happy.

And if you decide to build your own "meals on wheels", PLEASE give us pictures and ideas as you go.
