Buckwheat

[Desert Rose Rabbits]

I'm thinking of growing buckwheat as a cover crop for my mini-garden this year and was curious if I can feed it after I've threshed it for the grain. Would it need to be dried first? I guess I'd essentially be growing my own hay.

You can use it as hay. It will be lower protein at that stage than if you fed it prior to it flowering.

I have heard of issues with photosensitivity with buckwheat but I don't think that would affect rabbits kept out of direct sunlight.
