In the first week this one had a more dark brown look where the fur was coming in, compared to another litter at the same time that had definite black.
As the rabbit has got a few weeks old the color now looks more black, yet is not as black as the others.

I've been referring to it as a broken chocolate but in looking at what are referred to as chocolate I'm thinking maybe I am quite wrong...
any thoughts? Is there another option?
Mom is bkn steel black- gold tipped, Dad Chestnut Agouti.

Not chocolate

Could be a very dark steel (Es_) but cannot be a super steel (EsEs) as the father is a chestnut

Could be a self black that grew out of smutty/brassy colour

Thanks Dood.

I guess I'll refer to it as broken black for now.
No hurry on the pedigree certificate being filled out as we are are keeping this one. I guess we'll see as he matures.

Thanks again.
