I think I have two rabbits that have botfly. They have lumps on their cheeks and an oval wound. What do I do? Is there anything other than a vet. An expensive vet bill is not going to happen. These are live stock not pets.

Does anyone have experience? What happens if you do nothing? Will it kill them? One of them has it just below the eye, the other is on the neck just under the jaw line.

And how can I keep any of the rest from getting them. How do I keep botfly away?

You can remove them, the rabbit won't like it and you have to be careful not to rupture the 'warble' when you take it out...it will poison the animal. There are others here on the board that have done this, I believe...I am sure they will weigh in on this...Good Luck!
