I know chins are impossible, he's a true black and not a self chin. What should I expect from this breeding color wise? Will all "blacks" be self chins or will only breeding show it?

As a black his C-locus is (C _) and we don't know what the blank spot is. It is possible that some of his black offspring will be self chins IF he carries chinchilla (cchd) shaded ( cchl) himilayan (ch) or red eyed white (c) in the blank and the kits also get the chinchilla gene from mom, but she could also carry shaded, himi or REW and the kits could get that instead.

Chinchilla coloured kits are not impossible from this mating but the chances are less than 25%

This mating will likely give you a bunch of chestnut kits but as we do not know what genes your rabbits are hiding you could get many other colours.

If you could tell us the colour of your buck and doe's parents and siblings it would help to fill in the gaps.

agree with dood..first generation without knowing the rest of the background, will be chestnut/castor/copper kits
