We originally tried shooting them with a pellet gun, but there was a lot of post mortem kicking which was disturbing. We used Bowbuild's method of suspending them by their hind legs for quite some time, but I rarely managed to get the bleed out that Bowbuild does.
I have been using the Swedish method of dispatching recently, where you place the rabbit on a solid surface and then whack it on the forehead and quickly slit the throat while it is stunned. You draw an imaginary X from the eyes to the ears and strike there. I will have to make a video of it at some point, since the video I watched on how to do it was private.

We are planning on going with a pellet gun, as DH is more comfortable with that, and I'm afraid I'd be nervous and botch a head hit. The prone gutting was very interesting, I liked it. Hopefully I will be just as graceful lol! (and youtube commentors always crack me up. There's the warning, both in print and verbally, and they still watch and comment :hmm
CamanoJim, is this the one? http://youtu.be/iali_mkReYA

(durnit!) but think rabbit wringer made with a board with V cut into it and mounted. in the video the guy did everything in his basement and it was handy for him to just mount it to the beams of the ceiling.

ohiogoatgirl, you can go into your "history" to try and find it. Unless you've cleared it of course. That's how I find alot of video's that I forgot to save to my favorites!
Just did a quick search on youtube for rabbit killboard and came up with this one. Might have hubby make one for me!
