We want to start breeding again next week and I have a question about time of day. In the warmer times of year we bred first thing in the morning or in the evening when it was cooling down. Partly I guess we did it to avoid the times when the rabbits seem inactive with the heat and partly because they seem most alert at dawn and dusk. So what about this time of year? Should we stick to morning or evening or would it be better to breed in the middle of the day when it is as warm and as light as possible?

I've been breeding in the late afternoon (still light out) for the last few days with great success.

Since rabbits are most active morning and evening, I don't really think it being warm and light in the middle of the day would make them any more eager to breed.

Early morning. Once the suns been out for a hour or two.
Or
Early evening. 1-2 hours before sundown.

Those are the times I breed. Mostly because it's convenient for me, but also that's when my does are at their most receptive.
