My Cream D'Argent doe won best of breed 3 times yesterday under three different Judges. Amazing a $8. Pound rabbit won. Am so happy. I also got another Cream D'Argent doe. Now I am up to 3 does and 2 bucks. My New Zealand's did ok but nothing to brag on. Had a great time. Learned I should never let my 17 year old near raffle table. She won 5 rabbits. I let her keep a pair of polish an a satin doe. Gave the rest away. We also picked up a pet quality Netherland dwarf buck. Our pet sales for small rabbits is doing well so we were expanding for that.

:wbounce: Wow,that is super cool. That show was a little to far for me to drive, but I would have loved to go, were there any Palomino's there?

Congrats on the wins!! That's awesome :)

If you're looking into expanding your pet market, get some lionheads. Most people love them, and they go like hotcakes!

There were Palomino's there very nice rabbits. I have some lionhead mixes and when they were bred to a doe their kits sold quick. I think they are cute but prefer smooth coat breeds. Looked up some info on the polish doe we got and found out she comes from good stock. She is a bud. Her father had 12 legs and her mother 5. Saw their pictures on the rabbitry website. The polish buck is has legs on both sides of his family also he is a small fella so look I look forward to seeing what they produce. The satin doe we got a pedigree that is not complete. We know she is about 3-4 months old but there are no birthdates on the pedigree anywhere. To bad as she will go nice with our fully pedegreed buck.

:congratulations:

Wow! What a fabulous day all around! :p

Any chance we'll be seeing pics of your "prize winning bunny" and the new crew any time soon? :camera:

I have pictures on my phone I want to put up but my computer won't work. I use my Kindle to get online and don't know how to put pictures on.

Way to go. I wish I could have gone to the show.
I am hopeing for the one next month. But I am not sure if I ill be able to make it.
I am happy your rabbit did so well. so now that it has 3 wins, dose it get a leg ???

Three best of shows under three judges she will have three legs and be a grand champion as long as she was a senior at the show.

Congratulations!! Sounds as if you had an excellent day, both on the judging table AND the raffle table!!!

She was judged as a senior doe. I wish I could go to Reno to show but all my money is going to fair that month.

It was 3 BOB's, not 3 BIS's.

The rabbit would have to be registered, too.

No chance of legs or registry on her. She was one of the three I got from the pound for $8.

If there were adequate numbers of both exhibitors and rabbits in your breed, the show secretary will send GC legs to you regardless of whether or not the rabbit is registered.

The factors are unrelated, but all must be in place before you can apply for a GC certificate from the ARBA. I'd consider trying to find where the rabbit came from, though. If you can narrow that down, it would be worth the effort. Sounds like you have a pretty decent rabbit to start with.

Well you get the legs regardless of registry. They'll just mail those to you on a show reports. But yea, you can't get it registered as a grand champion through the ARBA. However if you keep your records up, on the third generation you can form the pedigree and you can record those legs on the pedigree.

And oops, sorry misread the BOB as a BIS.

Don't give up Demamma, it took me 2.5 years to track down the breeder of my EA buck, but I finally did it and have a correct pedigree for him now! Most breeders will understand a rabbit getting seperated from it's pedigree, but you do need a certain amount of information ... I was in possession of the pedigree for the grey buck that was purchased at the same time my guy was, so the breeder only had to look up the sale record for the pedigree I had to be able to send me the proper pedigree.

Either way, with a GC already, your doe is still a good breeder for your program, and the kits should sell well as breeders :) Especially if you can get some legs on some of them, too!

__________ Wed Apr 03, 2013 9:26 pm __________

Whoops, and :congratulations: :hooray: on the great job!!!
