Best meat rabbits for Florida?

Howdy,
Anyone have a recommendation for a good meat rabbit breed that would handle Florida climate well? One of my family members is hoping to start raising meat rabbits and I was curious what folks might recommend.
Can New Zealands tolerate the heat? Mine seem to have fairly thick fur, but maybe that's just a Northwest thing?

Look at what is sold locally (craigslist and so on), they should be okay in the climate they are born in.
