My favorite doe has developed some bald spots and I'm not sure of the cause. At first I thought it might be a combination of heat and the fact her babies were sitting on her shoulders all the time and might have peed on her. I'm thinking not so much anymore. I originally put blue-kote on them and they started Re growing the hair and I thought all was well. It started falling back out again, though. I took a picture on my phone but it isn't showing up well so I will have to do another after work. There is slight flaking of the skin, but not bad.
Anyone on here have thoughts or ideas? Someone mentioned ivermectin just in case at the feed store or I have vetricin that I can try. She hasn't fully weaned her litter yet, so I wasn't sure what is safe for her at this time.
Thanks for any input!

It may be fur mites..try a treatment with D.E. I have a doe like this too and I treated her three days ago the fur is back. :)
I am going to piggy back on here though..I have a 20 week old doe who had developed a bare butt...tail too. doesn't appear to be mites.I don't think it's hutch burn because she is super clean. and it is on the top of her butt. nothing wrong around the organs..I treated with D.E so I am waiting to see if it works..if not on to blu-kote.. .

I agree with Katie- probably fur mites. I have never seen much if any flaking in the few rabbits that I have had with mites.

Isn't that the most amazing thing?!? :p I can't believe how quickly the new fur comes in.

Any one got any ideas on bald butts? I'm not sure if maybe she or a neighbor is pulling it out. I saw a small tuft of fur in her cage a few days ago but this is a large area and there is no fur in or under the cage. Do you think she is eating it? And why would a rabbit do that?
