We finally have babies. :p Tartar waited till day 32 to have them and waited to the last minute to pull fur and make a nest. :x    Went out this morning to find the nest box in the center of the cage and her past out beside it. Poor girl. Then I looked at the nest and found that she had removed everything from the box, hay and pine shavings, every bit was under her cage. 7 kits sitting on a tiny bed of fur and one of the kit's foot was stuck between the box floor and the cage floor. I took the box out and fixed it up for her. :x   It's foot looks pretty damaged but time will tell. Doesn't seem to be painful.

Here's a pic of the litter. I weighed them as a group and they were at 14oz. They all appear to be about the same size as of right now.

I'm so excited. I was up at 3 this morning and wasn't able to go back to sleep. I waited till 7 to go out to see if she had popped. :p

Congrats Kathy.

SORRY............I forgot to tell you about the nails. My bad.

Should have pointed that out to you when you were down here.
It's a simple trick and it's a guarantee the doe will NEVER move the box.

Grumpy.

Nails :? :? Will have to add some. Say, 1 per corner?

One under each front corner, driven down to 1/2" exposure....
Cut The Nail-Head Off....Keep the front of the box elevated
until you have it located where you want it.

Lower it in place, the nail protrusions pass through the wire
and that box is locked exactly where you want it. It'll never move.

I *hate* waiting for the last few days :x I get the same way when I'm expecting kittens (of the cat variety)I'll seriously start to have dreams about the babies being born, get really excited when I wake up and then be like "oh yeah, got at least another week to wait. "

But seriously, I feel like I just stare at my doe like :wr_crying: by the time she's due lol. Doesn't help that I'm notoriously impatient.

That's the way I've been. Just glad their here.

He was the one who was across the rabbitry. And just last night found him wedged between the nest box and the wire of the cage. :x
