I got to thinking about the automatic feeding systems they use in poultry broiler houses and was figured something like that could be done with rabbits if you had a barn with cages all in a line. So I did a bit of googling.

I found this http://www.meneghin.it/eng/

There are the options for automatic feeding, watering, and waste systems. I guess something like this must be what the rex fur farms use. The company is in Italy so I wouldn't even want to imagine what shipping would cost. But the system looks awesome. I love the way the nestboxes are buildin and can be checked from the outside.

I went to the site and requested a dealer and price list. I do like the set up.

Adding to Christmas list. :p

That would def be the way to go if you had alot of rabbits. Auto feeding auto watering and easy to check nestboxes...and I thought I was drooling over the bassequipment systems lol

I like the nest box situation a lot,
JMHO, -- however I personally don't like automatic feeding systems, [even though they are great labor savers] -- in my experience, I need to see each rabbit each day, feeding time is the time I do this, -and,- reduced feed consumption is sometimes the only observable sign I see, that tells me a rabbit is not feeling well. [that I notice in time to actually do something about it] With the auto feed systems I have seen, an operator has no idea how much feed the rabbit, or litter is actually eating. --again , JMHO [and I don't have two hundred does anymore either]

I've seen something like this in real life --- they had them set up the Royal Winter Fair one year --- and found the cages to be REALLY small, that they'd work well with the dwarf breeds like polish and nethies and the like, but not for meat rabbits.

They were pricey but they looked really great (other than the size thing).

IF one could take out dividers and make them big enough for momma rabbit and eventually kits to move around the cage in they would be GREAT!.
