Hello Gang!
Well, I broke down and spent the $200 plus shipping for a freez-X system and spent all day yesterday setting it up. Where my rabbitry is located the neariest water supply is about 150 feet away and the daily bucketing of water was a real drag to say the least... My setup is basically a 12' wide x 24' long shelterlogic storage thing and so far its great.
I have 16 cages (8 per side) stacked two tier and they hang from PVC frames. So, I ran the line out of the bucket (pump) down the bottom of one side then up to the second level and back to the starting point. Then I crossed over the top to the other side, down the top row of cages, down to the bottom row and then vertical to cross back over to the starting side.
I set the system up with a second top bucket that drains into the bottom buck to refill it via the float valve. The return line empty's into the top bucket and the whole thing seems to be working ok. However, I do get a lag of about 5 minutes as the top buck is not replenishing the bottom bucket at the same flow rate. I'm considering running the return line into the lower bucket and then allow the top bucket replenish as needed.
If anybody has any thoughts, experience or recommendations I'd love to hear them.
Thanks!!
