She was in with three other girls (all confirmed as being female).
And I'm a bit flummoxed.

1. because she's a tiny girl
2. because there's no way a buck can reach her (six inches separate the cages).
3. because she's still a baby.

PROBLEM
I'm leaving for camping at the end of the week. My bunny sitter does a great job but she's not prepared to deal with problems with a young doe.

Thoughts, suggestions???

Didn't someone mention having a rabbit get bred at like eight weeks? That would put her at 3 weeks along if she was bred by a buck. Since she was in with does maybe one of them mounted her and she is having a false pregnancy?

Yes, I remember someone saying that recently! The little doeling went on to have a live litter, too.

no kits at this point. just a little doe happily building and rebuilding her nest. Funny little thing.... mayhap a false pregnancy..... time will tell.

I had one of my Just Bunnies** do that, too. And she'd never been in with a buck, just in an adjacent cage. He's good, but he's not THAT good. After a week or so, she stopped nest building & fur pulling. She's still next door to him although I don't plan to breed her. Keeps him calm & they can nuzzle each other through the wire.

**Just Bunnies are exactly that. Part of the rabbit run I keep for making garden berries. aka Meat Mutts, but that's such a horrible name for such sweet critters.
