I just got a few new rabbits from a big breeder. She sold me a Cali buck and doe, a NZW doe, and a Hyplus 19 doe, all fryers. They look super good, very healthy and full of beans, lol...
So what is a Hyplus 19 rabbit anyway? A hybrid, right? Any knowledge out there of how it was created? Is is superior to my NZW? What is the advantage of having them in my breeding program? Does anyone here own any? I am trying to google it. Here's what I came up with:

Any information, and your opinions would help. Thanks all!

Jesse there is a lady near Russell that has only these rabbits in a commercial setting..she imports them in from France as that is where she is form.I think her name is Janet.. . THey breed for meat only.. but if you breed them back they do not produce the same quality.. You can take a buck from that and breed to your rabbits... but not to each other.. you can, just not the same results.. and if you keep doing that , the rabbits gets smaller and smaller... I have to find her website.... she has pure and she has mixes ... the pure are very expensive. They are very similar and looks the same as the white new Zealand rabbits ..

here is something that might help

HERE YOU GO.. I FOUND IT..THIS WILL EXPLAIN WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.. I FOUND THAT WEBSITE TO.. .. http://www.thepoultrysite.com/focus/gri ... id-rabbits

The website that I found states:
"The Hyplus PS19 females have a high dressing out percentage for itself,
as demonstrated by the results of several studies."

Thanks Mary Ann. Yeah this lady said that my doe's line originally came from France. She did not say where she got hers from though. My Hyplus 19 doe looks the same as the NZW she sold me. For now, as they are in the same cage, I had to mark the NZW's ear with marker to tell them apart. Eventually I will tattoo them all.
My Hybrid is a doe, and the only bucks I have presently are the NZR buck you sold me, and a cali buck. When everybunny is of age, what do you think would make the best breeding? I would get a white pelt from the hybrid cali cross, and maybe some colourful kits from the hybrid NZR cross.... opinions anyone?
Any more information or experience with the Hyplus 19 anyone?

And where the rabbit was developed:

this is the only lady that has them .. put they are around as she sells them .. A pure buck is 150 dollars.. so she sell mostly mixes.... the rabbit is smaller than the nzw.. but has more meat and grow faster to 5 pounds in 8 weeks time and better moms and milkers.. I don't know how that that is.. I would breed to the cal buck first and see how that goes... you will get blacks in the breeding from the red buck.
